How many CE hours do I need to renew my esthetician license in Texas?
Most estheticians need 4 CE hours per 2-year renewal cycle. If you have held your Texas esthetician license for 15 or more years, you only need 2 hours. Only years licensed in Texas count toward the 15-year threshold.
Will you report my hours to the TDLR?

You only need to complete one set of CE hours per renewal cycle, regardless of how many license types you hold. One course completion covers all of your Texas cosmetology and barber licenses.
Do I need CE for my first license renewal?
Yes. Texas requires CE before every renewal, including your first.
How long do I have to complete my continuing education?
Your CE hours must be completed before your license renewal date. Your renewal date is 2 years from the date your license was issued, so the exact deadline varies by licensee.
