Texas Manicurist CE Requirements
To renew your Texas manicurist license, you must complete 4 CE hours every 2 years. The TDLR requires all manicurist licensees to complete continuing education before each renewal, including the first.
| Subject | Hours Required |
|---|---|
| Sanitation, health, and safety | 1 hour |
| Human trafficking prevention | 1 hour |
| Cosmetology or barber-related topics (elective) | 2 hours |
Your renewal deadline is 2 years from the date your license was issued. This date is specific to you and is printed on your license. CE hours can be completed at any point during your 2-year renewal cycle, but they must be finished before you submit your renewal application.
There is no first-renewal exemption. Even if you are renewing for the first time, you must complete all 4 CE hours.
The 2-hour elective block can cover any topic listed in Section 83.202 of the TDLR rules, including sanitation topics beyond the required hour, the Texas Barbering and Cosmetology law and rules, or mental health awareness.
