Course Summary

The state of Texas wants to make sure that sanitation is a priority for all Cosmetology and Barbering licensees, whether your specialty is hair, nails, skincare, or barbering. This is why, each time you renew your license, a Texas sanitation course is one of your requirements.

Recently, Texas added a 1-hour human trafficking course requirement for all cosmetology and barber board renewals. This 2-hour course includes both of board requirements.

Who is this 2-Hour Texas Sanitation and Trafficking Course for?

The TDLR website states:

If you have held a Texas cosmetology and barber board license for at least 15 years, you only need to complete two hours of continuing education.

  • One hour of department-approved continuing education in sanitation
  • One hour of department-approved continuing education in human trafficking awareness

This course is approved for all license types: cosmetology operator, barber, manicurist, estheticians, and other specialist licenses.

If you have not held your license for 15 years, you will most likely need to complete the 4-hour continuing education course approved by TDLR. Our 4-hour course includes both human trafficking and sanitation.

We also offer a 4-hour Texas Continuing Education Course for all license types. Our 4-hour course that also includes both human trafficking and sanitation. You can find that TDLR-approved course here: Texas 4 Hour Continuing Education Course.

No matter your specialty—hair, skin, nails, or barbering—if you qualify, this course fulfills your sanitation and trafficking requirements.
